Barking deer carcass, country-made gun seized; five held

The carcass of a barking deer, a country-made gun and some cartrides were seized from five persons near Gudalur, some 80 km from here today.

Forest department officials said that their personnel acted on a tip off, intercepted two cars and searched them.

They found the carcass of the barking deer, a country-made gun and 12 cartridges.

Mohammed Rafiq and Mohammed Subain hailing from Manjeri in Kerala and Ramesh, Mani and Kuttan from the district were arrested, they said.
