Press Trust of India New Delhi
Barley prices declined by Rs 19 to Rs 1,265 per quintal in futures trading today after participants reduced their positions, hurt by sluggish demand in the spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, barley delivery in most-active July contracts dipped by Rs 19, or 1.48 per cent to Rs 1,265 per quintal, with an open interest of 20,550 lots.

On similar lines, delivery in June month contracts eased by Rs 16, or 1.27 per cent to Rs 1,246 per quintal, in an open interest of 6,630 lots.

Marketmen said adequate stocks in the market following a pick up in supplies amid subdued spot demand, led to a fall in barley prices at futures trade.
