Base metals recover on spot demand

Base metal prices recovered by Rs 2 per kg at the non-ferrous metals market on pick up in demand from consuming industries.

Traders said increased demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market led to rise in base metal prices.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and zinc ingot rose by Rs 2 each to Rs 443 and Rs 139-145 per kg, respectively. Lead ingot and lead imported also traded higher by a similar margin to Rs 146 and Rs 153 per kg, respectively.

Aluminium ingot, sheet cutting, wire scrap and utensils scrap, too, settled higher by Rs 2 each to Rs 170, Rs 166, Rs 166 and Rs 164 per kg, respectively.

 

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg):

Zinc ingot Rs 139-145, nickel plate (4x4) Rs 933-935, gun metal scrap Rs 227, bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 443, chadri deshi Rs 295.

Lead ingot Rs 146, lead imported Rs 153, aluminium ingots Rs 170, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 166, aluminium wire scrap Rs 166 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 164.
