Base metal prices fell by up to Rs 5 per kg at the non-ferrous metal market today owing to slackened demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market amid a weak trend overseas.
Traders said besides muted demand from consuming industries at domestic spot market, a weak trend in base metals in global markets mainly led to decline in base metal prices.
Globally, nickel for delivery in three-month dropped 2.2 per cent on the London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, nickel plate (4x4) and copper mixed scrap fell by Rs 5 each to 842-847 and Rs 373 per kg respectively.
Zinc ingot, lead ingot and lead imported were also enquired lower by Rs 2 each to Rs 107-113, Rs 91 and Rs 97 per kg respectively.

Zinc ingot Rs 107-113, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 842-847, gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, copper mixed scrap Rs 373, chadri deshi Rs 295.
Lead ingot Rs 91, lead imported Rs 97, aluminium ingots Rs 156, aluminium sheet cutting Rs 152, aluminium wire scrap Rs 152 and aluminium utensils scrap Rs 150.
