The Punjab state education department has decided to undertake baseline evaluation of school students with a view to bringing about a qualitative improvement in educational standards in government schools.
In a release today, Punjab Education and Language Minister Sikandar Singh Maluka said that the exercise, which is to begin on April 9, is aimed at students in the sixth, seventh and eighth standards.
The main objective of this evaluation is to analyse the knowledge, information and maturity of students vis-a-vis social studies subjects.
The minister asked the Director General of School Education to ensure that the evaluation process was free from any malpractices by students.
