Lt Governor Kiran Bedi today uged the Centre to get administrative audit of various programmes of the Central governmeent implemented in the union territory.

Stating Puducherry being geographically on the margins, corruption, nepotism, politicisation of bureaucracy and abuse of funds would go unnoticed in the union territory, she said.

She said the Centre "needs to ensure" that instructions it gives are implemented in letter and spirit by the Chief Secretary of the Union Territory of Puducherry appointed by the Centre.

She also stated as irregular the transfer of Municipal Commissioner. The Provident Fund remittances of employees in PSUs and cooperative societies to their Provident Fund accounts were defaulted.

Bedi has been at loggerheads with the government almost from almost the day she assumed office in May last year over various issues.

The turf war intensified recently after a Municipal Commissioner was transferred and kept under compulsory wait through an order of the Chief Secretary on March 30.
