Bengaluru man with alleged ISIS links held in Kullu

A 23-year-old man from Bengaluru with alleged ISIS links was arrested on Saturday by team of NIA and local police from Banjar area in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh.

Abeed Khan was arrested from a church where he was staying with a fake identity for the past four-five months, police said.

Confirming the arrest, Director General of Police Sanjay Kumar said that Khan is being interrogated by intelligence agencies.

Sources said that the man was named by some of his accomplices during interrogation after they were arrested in Delhi.

They said that Khan has admitted that he was influenced by the ideology of ISIS terror group.
 

The NIA and police refused to divulge further details in this connection, saying that investigations are underway.
