With pujas round the corner, a renowned city artiste and film set designer recreates the Black Hole and God's Particle for a North Kolkata puja this year, tracing the origin of the Universe.
The Black Hole, having come up in an
under-construction real life building of the 'Keshtopur Profullo Kanon (West) Pujo', the first instance of a brick and mortar construction doubling up as a puja mandap in the country, will culminate in light or Moksha, celebrated artiste Rupchand Kundu told PTI here today.

Kundu, having fetched many prestigious Sharad Sammans in past few years, said he has sought to capture theme of timelesness in space in this puja and the Big Bang explosion having preceded the creation of the Universe..
"The blasting led to the birth of Universe, which manifests in female form (Mahashakti) " he said, Kundu, having worked with veteran directors Anjan Dutta, Mrinal Sen, late Tapan Sinha and others, said.
About using recycled materials to conjure up the black hole image in the interiors, Kundu said "It is our statement to come out of the consumerist cycles of fast foods and electronic goods."
"Little pleasures and instant gratification traits go against our philosophy and will only quicken the doom," the former ISKCON chief artiste said.
Kundu, who was busy giving live finishing touches to the 35th feet sculpture said "If we don't wake up now, the entire animal worrld will be gradually facing extinction in the planet."
'Shakti Jodi Mukti', talks about Divine Power and salvation. With a building doubling up as Puja pandal for the first time, Secretary Ashok Patro said.
