Former Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly Bir Devinder Singh was today suspended from the primary membership of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect for his "anti-party" activities.
A committee, headed by party leader Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa with Ajaib Singh Bhatti and Rana K P Singh as members, has been set up to probe the charges against him, a party spokesman said.
Singh has been asked to reply by April 7 as to why further action should not be taken against him for his alleged anti-party activities, he said.
