The BJP today demanded the state government to act fast to resolve the stalemate on the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) paper leakage incident so that the future of aspirants are not jeopardised.

"The government should made public the magisterial enquiry report along with the action taken report so that the issue is resolved amicably and the candidates can plan accordingly to sit in the exam," senior BJP leader and former MP Tapir Gao said during a Press conference here today.

The reported leakage of a question paper (General Studies Paper-II) in the APPSCCE Main exam held on September last had snowballed into a major controversy after the candidates protested which forced the Commission to cancel the examination indefinitely.

The state government had constituted a committee headed by Naharlagun extra assistant commissioner Hento Kena to conduct the enquiry and submit the report within two weeks.

Gao said, the state government should not play with the career of the students and should resolve the issue at the earliest.

Alleging that the state government was not serious on the imbroglio, the BJP leader demanded the government to act to bring back the lost glory of the Commission by appointing an IAS officer as its permanent secretary.

"Efforts should be initiated to make APPSC strong with special budgetary provisions. Our legislators will raise the issue in the forthcoming winter session of the assembly," he said.

Gao also criticised the five PPA MLAs who merged with the Congress yesterday saying that they have cheated the people who voted them to power.
