BJP leader killed in mishap

A local BJP leader was today killed and another injured when the vehicle in which they were travelling collided with a truck while they were returning in the wee hours after preparations for a rally by Narendra Modi.

BJP district president Sushil Rai was killed on the spot while party general secretary Shailendra Singh was seriously injured in the mishap near Akhshar village in Sarai Lakhanti area, police said.

Singh was was admitted to a hospital.

While the truck driver escaped from the spot, his vehicle has been seized, they said.
