A case was lodged against BJP MLA from Jasrana, Ramgopal alias Pappu Lodhi, and his gunner for allegedly manhandling the secretary of a village panchayat here, the police said today.
The complainant, Ramchandra, who is the secretary of the village panchayat, has alleged that Lodhi called him on his phone yesterday, asking him to come to Kabirpura, but since he was busy in the Patham area, he had requested the MLA to come over instead, the police said.
According to the complaint, as soon as Lodhi arrived, he and his gunner started abusing and manhandling Ramchandra, the police said.
District Magistrate (DM) Neha Sharma said, taking cognizance of the complaint, the gunner was sent to the police lines and a case was lodged against the MLA.
