BJP MLA receives extortion calls in UP

BJP MLA Veer Vikram Singh has filed a complaint alleging that he has been receiving extortion threats from unidentified people demanding Rs 10 lakh, police said today.

Singh, an MLA from Meeranpur Katra Assembly seat, said the sender threatened him to face dire consequences otherwise.

The MLA is in Kolkata at present, the police said.

Superintendent of Police S Chinnapa said that police is probing the matter.
