Himachal BJP today staged a demonstration outside the state Assembly to protest against failure on the part of the government to arrest Youth Congress workers involved in clash with BJYM workers at BJP office here on January 29 last.
BJP workers gathered at Ambedkar Chowk (Chaura Maidan) and marched towards the state Assembly but were stopped by the police 50m before the main gate using barricades and parking fire brigade and police vans.
Addressing the demonstrators, former chief minister P K Dhumal, who staged a walkout over the issue alongwith other BJP members, attacked the government for not taking action against the culprits and giving clean chit to Youth Congress workers.

He said that one BJP worker sustained serious eye injury and lost vision and was under treatment at PGI for about a month but the government did not bother to care about him.
"It is serious matter and the BJP would continue its agitation till the culprits are arrested and government ousted," he declared.
State BJP chief Satpal Singh Satti, former BJP president Suresh Bharadwaj and party general secretary Randhir Sharma said that the enquiry ordered by the government has no meaning as the chief minister has repeatedly given clean chit to YC workers and blamed the BJYM.
