BJP allies in Tamil Nadu today congratulated the party's new chief Amit Shah on his elevation in the organisation.
"I am quite confident that your clear vision, influence and tireless hard work will definitely record a new era in the history of the BJP as well as national politics in India," Vijayakant, president of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) said in a statement here.
Hailing Shah as a "strong pillar" of the BJP, MDMK chief Vaiko said that under his able leadership the party would fulfill the promises made to the people.
Earlier in the day, Vaiko spoke to Amit Shah over phone and greeted him."I extend my greetings to you to succeed in your mission."
Soon after incumbent Rajnath Singh announced the appointment of Shah as BJP president in Delhi, crackers were burst and sweets distributed to party workers and public at "Kamalalayam,", the state headquarters of the BJP here.
