BJP seeking urgent filling up of vacant FDA inspector posts

BJP today urged the Puducherry government to take immediate steps to fill vacant posts of inspectors in the Department of Food and Drug Administration.
In a release here, local unit General Secretary R V Swaminathan said the posts were lying vacant for a long time due to which the sale of banned products, fake commodities and also medicines and food products were being sold in the market beyond the date of expiry.
He claimed there were also rampant sale of banned tobacco products in the Union Territory.
He asked the government to take steps to fill vacant posts of Inspectors and ensure that the quality of products was maintained.
