BJP today expressed gratitude to Muslim voters in Jammu and Kashmir saying the party was now not "untouchable" for any section of the society.

Speaking at a meeting of the BJP Muslim Morcha, state general secretary of the party, Ashok Kaul said BJP would not have been able to win so many seats without Muslim votes.

"In the recently held Assembly elections, the BJP Muslim Morcha played an important role. Without the Muslim votes to the BJP, it would not have been possible to win so many seats," he said.

Kaul said in 12 assembly segments in Kashmir province, BJP got more votes than Congress and has raised the vote bank in the province.

The leader explained that BJP is a party with a difference and it was "not untouchable" to any segment of the society and works for the welfare of every segment of the society.

"The party represents all the sections of the society," he said.
