A decision in this regard was taken at the NDA leaders meet here today, told reporters.

Former party P S Sreedharan Pillai, whowas the candidate in the 2016 assembly election in the segment, was one of the names considered for the bypoll.

The by-poll was necessitated as CPI(M) MLA K K who won the in 2016 polls, passed away in January 2017.

"The BJP and NDA have a strong presence in and we will win the by-poll," Rajasekharan said.

The NDA would work out an action plan for the by-poll, he said.

Slamming the CPI(M) led in the state, Rajasekharan alleged that political killing has become a daily affair in the state.

The government was trying to 'sabotage' corruption cases to save the corrupt, he added.

Thushar Vellapally, of BDJS, the second key partner in the NDA in Kerala, was among those who took part in the meeting.
