Senior BJP leaders, including the party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, were here this evening to attend the wedding of Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's son.
Parrikar's son Abhijat, a businessman by profession, got married to his long-time friend in a grand ceremony at Taleigao village, three kms from Panaji.
Besides Modi, BJP leaders like L K Advani, Rajnath Singh, Venkaiah Naidu, Gopinath Munde and Rajiv Pratap Rudy among others attended the wedding reception and blessed the couple. Goa politicians cutting across party line were also present.
Tight security arrangements were made at the venue considering the presence of high-profile personalities.
The Gujarat Chief Minister, who was one of the main attractions at the mega event, was given a warm welcome by BJP workers when he arrived at the airport.
The BJP stalwart, who today got a major relief from a Gujarat Court in the 2002 riots, however, did not interact with the media persons.
