Press Trust of India Chennai
: A group of student volunteers today urged the BJP national leadership to take a firm stance on the Tamils issue against Sri Lanka in the United Nations if it was voted to power at the Centre.

Handing over a memorandum to senior state BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan, addressed to the party's Prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, they outlined several measures, including that the Saffron party take firm action to secure justice for Tamils, especially at the global forums.

"A referendum should be conducted under the aegis of UN in Sri Lanka among Tamils and the government of India should make efforts to bring forward such a proposal at the United Nations.
