Bhartiya Kisan Union has constituted eight teams to canvass for PPCC Chief Partap Singh Bajwa who will be taking on BJP leader Vinod Khanna in the ensuing elections in Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency.

The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the BKU held under the Chairmanship of Bhupinder Singh Mann here today.

BKU State General Secretary Gurbachan Singh Bajwa said the organisation has about one lakh members in Gurdaspur LS seat, which has now been divided in two districts, Gurdaspur and Pathankot.

Bajwa said Sukhwinder Singh Kahlon and Kewal Singh Kang will lead their teams in Gurdaspur and Pathankot respectively.

He said five teams would campaign door to door in Gurdaspur and three teams would campaign in Pathankot and mobilize the peasantry community to vote for Bajwa.

Similar teams would also constitute in other Lok Sabha constituencies in favor of other Congress candidates in the state, he added.
