Black pepper, ginger bleached slips on subdued demand

Black pepper and ginger bleached slipped at the spices market here today on subdued demand from stockists and retailers.

Rest all other spices ruled steady in absence of any other large-scale buying activity.

Black pepper prices declined by Rs 10/5 per kg to Rs 700/770 from Wednesday's close at Rs 710/775 and ginger bleached moved down by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 135 as compared Rs 140 yesterday.

Following are today's closing rates (in Rs with previous rates in brackets):

Black pepper (per kg) 700/770 (710/775), ginger bleached (per kg) 135 (140), ginger unbleached (per kg) 155 (155), copra office Alappuzha (per quintal) 7,700 (7,700), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 7,600 (7,600), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 9,500 (9,500), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 8,900 (8,900).
