Black pepper, ginger slip on reduced demand

Black pepper and ginger prices declined at the spices market here today on reduced demand from stockists and retailers amid lower export offtake.

While, Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode recovered following renewed demand from stockists and exporters.

Rest all other spices ruled steady in the absence of any worthwhile buying.

Black Pepper fell by Rs 30 per kg to Rs 700/765 from Wednesday's closing level of Rs 730/795.

Copra office Alapuzha and copra office Kozhikode rose by Rs 100 per quintal to Rs 6,500 and Rs 6,300 from its overnight level of Rs 6,400 and Rs 6,200.

Black pepper (per kg) 700/765 (730/795), ginger bleached (per kg) 190 (210), ginger unbleached (per kg) 210 (230), copra office Alapuzha (per quintal) 6,500 (6,400), copra office Kozhikode (per quintal) 6,300 (6,200), copra Rajapur Mumbai (per quintal) 16,000 (16,000), copra edible Mumbai (per quintal) 8,000 (8,000).
