Blackflags hoisted atop houses against the bio gas plant

About 1,000 residents of three villages near here today hoisted black flags on their houses, to lodge their protest against the proposed bio-gas plant in their area.

The villagers, around Kanthal, had already aired their view against the plant, to produce gas from vegetable and other waste, proposed by the Municipality, by organising road picketing last week.

As the municipality started construction works for the Rs.90 lakh plant, the villagers hoisted black flags atop the houses, registering their protest, police said.
