Blast, land dispute kill three in northwest Pakistan

Three persons were killed and four others injured today in two separate incidents of violence in the restive northwest Pakistan's tribal region.

A landmine blast in Shakai area of Wana tehsil in South Waziristan Agency bordering Afghanistan claimed the life of a man and left another severely injured.

Following the explosion, the area was soon cordoned off by security officials and a manhunt was initiated to nab the culprits.

The injured was meanwhile taken to a nearby hospital.

In a separate incident, two persons were killed and three others wounded in a fierce exchange of fire between two brothers over land dispute in tribal area's Mohmand Agency.
 

The incident took place in Tamanzai Yakh Dand area of Pandialy tehsil in Mohmand Agency.

Two persons were killed and three others injured in the heavy exchange of fire between the two parties. The injured were recuperating at Ghalanai hospital.
