Blood samples of some ducks and pelicans at the Corporation Zoo here were today taken for testing in view of perceived threat of spread of H5N1 virus reported in some parts of neighbouring Kerala, officials said.
A team of doctors from the Animal Husbandry department took blood samples of five pelicans and about 20 ducks for testing, Zoo officials said.
The samples have been sent to a research centre at Erode from where it would be despatched to Bhopal, they said.
