The bodies of an elderly couple were today recovered from a maize field in Jharkhand's Gumla district, a police officer said.
Prima facie, it seems that Sahdeo Oraon (65) and his wife Bigni Devi (62) - residents of Arko Mahua village in Puso police station area of Gumla - were killed around two days ago, he said.
"We are probing the case from all angles. The couple could be a victim of a withcraft practice," the officer said, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
