Body of former DIG found in drain

The body of a former Deputy Inspector General (DIG) was today found in a drain here, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Prabin Saikia, a former DIG in Assam police. Sakia had retired four years ago, they said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and the cause of death could only be ascertained after the reports, police said.
