Tension erupted here today after a youth was found hanging from a tree in Gangotri Vihar and a woman from a different community was found lying unconscious nearby.
The deceased, Anees, and the woman were both residents of Ghaas Kata area of Chakrata road, SSP Saharanpur Rajesh Pandey said.
The victims belong to different communities and the incident has led to tension in the area, Pandey added.
The woman has been admitted to district hospital and the body of the youth has been sent for postmortem, police said, adding the investigations are underway.
When the families of the victims were informed about the incident, they rushed to police station and hospital, where they created a ruckus.
