A book on the history of the famous Meenakshi Amman temple here was released on the occasion of the new year today.
The book titled 'The Great Temple of Madurai', released by the shrine, would contain rare details about the temple, considered an ancient one with customs and traditions being followed for centuries.
Joint Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department, N.Natarajan said a book on "Shiva Leela" (miracles performed by Lord Shiva of the temple)was also released.
