Bootlegger held with 130 pouches of illicit liquor in J-K

An alleged bootlegger has been arrested and 130 pouches of illicit liquor was recovered from his possession in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, a naka was laid at the Railway Chowk in Katra belt of Reasi district yesterday, they said.

During checking, police intercepted one Pawan Kumar, a resident of Reasi, and recovered 130 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession, they said, adding, he was arrested on the spot.

A case was registered at Police Station Katra and further investigations have begun, police said.
