"Box bomb" found near office of AIADMK functionary

A "box bomb" was today found planted near the office of an AIADMK functionary here, police said.

According to police, an auto-rickshaw driver noticed the bomb near the office of the functionary at Onion Market here and informed the police.

A team of bomb disposal experts, along with police, rushed to spot and took bomb away for diffusing it, they said.

On February 11, a powerful 'pipe bomb' was found near a compound wall of a private wholesale market at nearby Uthangudi.

It was defused later.
