Boy dies after being run over by road roller

A 12-year-old boy died after he was run over by a road roller at Bugipura village here, police said today.

The incident took place yesterday evening when the boy, identified as Pargat Singh, was trying to bring a ball out which had gone under the road roller.

Meanwhile, the driver, unaware of the boy being under the road roller, started the vehicle as a result of which the boy was crushed to death, police said.

A case has been registered against the driver of the road roller, police said.
