A teenage boy was killed while two others injured after a wall of a godown collapsed here today, following which angry villagers pelted stones at policemen alleging them of reaching late at the spot.

Bharat Dhuliya, 18, and two others, identified as Santosh and Rakesh, were standing near the wall when it suddenly collapsed on them, an official at Kalayanpura police station said.

"Soon after the incident, people gathered at the site and rescued the two injured and took the body of the boy out. The body of Dhuliya was kept lying for two hours and was lifted by villagers only after the owner of the godown, Ashish Rathore, assured compensation for the boy's family," the official added.

When the policemen, inspector Lokendra Singh Thakur, and Santosh Kesna and Rakesh Hariya reached the spot, enraged over the incident, villagers started hurling stones at them, in which the policemen sustained injuries, district SP Krishnaveni Desavatu told PTI.

Thakur received three stitches on his head, she said, adding, another police party was rushed to the spot after the group's protest turned violent and brought the situation under control.

The godown was owned by Rathore and one Khema, where the former had stocked his wheat yield.

Police have registered a case in this regard and further investigation into incident, including the cause of the godown collapse, the SP said.
