Boy held for making hoax call of explosion

A minor boy was held here today for making phone calls threatening of explosion in several places in the city, police said.

Following a call received by the control room here on September two, stating that bombs would explode in several places in the city and to be alert, police investigated and located the area from where the call was made.

They held an auto-rickshaw driver, Narayanasamy, owner of the mobile phone who claimed that he had lost his handset a year ago.

On further investigation, with the help of Cyber Crime police, they traced the call details and caught a 15-year old boy studying in 8th standard, from his house in Sundarapuram in the outskirt of the city.
 

Being a minor, he was lodged in the juvenile home in the city, police said.
