A middle-aged woman today claimed that a chunk of her hair was cut off while she was sleeping at her home in Tagore Nagar area here, even as police expressed doubt that some mischievous element could be behind it.
The Jalandhar Police Commissionerate told PTI that the woman identified as Rajrani has registered a complaint in this regard.
The incident took place around the noon when she was sleeping in her room. Rajrani's son found that his mother's braid was chopped and woke her up before raising an alarm.
The police was informed, they said adding further probe in the matter is underway.
