Brazil's Lula to face trial for obstruction of justice

Former Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva is to face trial on charges that he attempted to obstruct the giant Petrobras corruption probe, officials said today.

"The charge is obstruction of justice" linked to the Petrobras embezzlement probe, named Operation Car Wash, a spokesman for the justice ministry told AFP.
