In a case of life imitating art, a 'Breaking Bad' fan, who won a national contest to meet the cast in September during show's finale, has been arrested on drug possession charges.

Ryan Lee Carroll, 28, was arrested on Tuesday following a raid on a home in the San Carlos Park neighbourhood in Fort Myers, Florida, CNN reported quoting its affiliate WBBH.

Carroll was arrested on felony charges of alleged possession of synthetic narcotics and a misdemeanour charge of allegedly keeping a shop or vehicle for dangerous drugs.

According to Lee County Sheriff's office website their Narcotics Unit arrested three men at the helm of a manufacturing and distribution operation of the synthetic marijuana known as "Spice".

During the raid, the officials discovered "shelves full of containers with thousands of packages of finished product and hundreds of uncashed money orders totalling thousands of dollars."

Over 700 pounds of 79,000 individually packaged packets of synthetic marijuana were seized from the place with an estimated value of approximately USD 1.25 million, the website noted.

Caroll had called the show "addicting" and something that people could relate to following his win in September.

Ironically, 'Breaking Bad', starring Bryan Cranston in the lead role of Walter White, revolved around a terminally-ill former chemistry teacher who starts to produce and sell drug methamphetamine to earn more money.
