Two brothers were arrested today on charges of chain snatching and 26 stolen chains were recovered from them, the police said.
Om Prakash Kumawat (35) and Ramkaran Kumawat (32) were nabbed by a police team from Vaishali Nagar here, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Ashok Gupta said.
The officer said that a country-made pistol and a cartridge were also seized from them.

Teams were formed following a rise in chain snatching incidents by bike-borne persons in the area. On the basis of CCTV camera footages, the police identified a few suspects and caught the accused, he said
They have confessed to have been involved in three dozen cases of chain snatching. They are being interrogated, he said.
