Brown sugar, ganja seized

Sleuths of Excise department today seized 40 gram brown sugar and 20 kg ganja from a food shop in Jharana Basti area here and arrested one person, an official said.

"While patrolling we got a tip off that a refreshment shop in Jharana basti has a stock of brown sugar and ganja. On raiding the shop's premises, we seized 40 gram brown sugar and 20 kg ganja," said Sarat Bhanja, S P of the district squad of the Excise department.

The owner of the shop was arrested, he said.

A weighing machine and Rs 4,200 in cash were also seized from the shop.
