Bruce Jenner is very brave: Boy George

Singer Boy George feels it is "brave" of Olympic-winning athlete Bruce Jenner to undergo gender transformation.

George, 53, said he supports Jenner's transition into a female, reported People magazine.

"I absolutely applaud what he's doing and I think it's very brave. And it actually makes me quite emotional," the singer said.

The Culture Club frontman was a pioneer when it came to discussions of gender identity in the '80s - a time when his appearance and sexuality were far less accepted than in today's society.

For George, seeing someone like Jenner - a former Olympian and symbol of masculinity - having the conviction to openly express his identity as a woman is "amazing."
 

"He has my 150 percent support in every way. "I think that the whole transgender thing is the new frontier," he said.
