BSF jawan drowns in creek during exercise

A BSF jawan drowned in a creek near here during a routine excercise today, while another is missing, a senior official said.

The incident occurred in border area near Koteswar town in the costal Kutch district.

Two jawans went missing in Lakki Nala creek during a routine excercise at BSF training centre in Kutch. The body of one of them was later recovered, while a search is on to trace the other jawan, Inspector General of BSF (Gujarat Frontier) Santosh Mehra said.

The body has been kept in Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Dayapar area to conduct medico-legal formalities.

BSF has not yet disclosed the names of the jawans.
