Border Security Force (BSF) Director General Subhash Joshi today asked BSF personnel in the state to remain alert in view of the political turmoil in Bangladesh.
The BSF DG inspected the India-Bangladesh border in Tripura. Security was augmented along the border, officials here said.
He inaugurated a new border outpost (BOP) at Kamalnagar in Sonamura subdivision of Sipahijala district and addressed the BSF personnel there.

During a meeting with the senior officials of BSF, Joshi directed them to keep a close vigil on the situation, BSF DIG, B S Rawat told reporters.
Joshi was accompanied by Inspector General (Operations) Rajib Krishna and Additional DG (East) B.D. Sharma.
The D.G also visited Chhotakhil, a border village in Sabroom subdivision in South Tripura district by helicopter and held a series of meetings after the inspection.
Tripura shares 856 KM long border with the neighbouring country while India's total border with the country is 4,096-km.
