BSF seize Rs 30 cr worth of heroin

After an exchange of fire with anti national elements during wee hours today, BSF troops seized 5 packets of heroin worth Rs 30 crore near the Mohamdiwala Border Out Post (BOP) here.

Troops detected 2 Pakistani smugglers near the border fence at the BOP, Ferozepur BSF DIG R K Thapa said.

Later, the smugglers started throwing some packets over the fence following which the BSF troops opened fire but the smugglers managed to flee back taking cover of darkness and thick growth of grass.

During the search operation in the area, the BSF seized 5 packets of Heroin wrapped in yellow adhesive tape besides Nokia Mobile Phone and 3 Pakistani SIM Cards, he said.
