The 11-day 'Budha Amarnath' pilgrimage in the mountainous district of Rajouri in Jammu region will begin on July 29, a senior government official said today.
Thousands of devotees undertake the yatra every year to pay their obeisance at the famous shrine of lord Shiva.
"The Budha Amarnath yatra will commence on July 29 this year and all arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth and peaceful pilgrimage," Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri, Shahid Iqbal Choudhary said.

Choudhary, senior officials of civil administration and police visited the transit camp located at the yatra ground near Dudha Dhari temple, reviewed the security and other arrangements in and around the base camp.
"A detailed review of arrangements for the pilgrims were discussed and finalised at the meeting," he said.
