A local businessman who was allegedly accepting bets on the ongoing IPL matches was arrested from Chikkadpally here, police said today.
M Karunakar Reddy was accepting the bets over mobile phones from punters for the IPL matches when the Central Zone Task Force team raided his rented house yesterday and apprehended him, they said.
Police recovered three cell phones, a television set and Rs 56,500 in cash from his possession, said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Task Force) P Rameshaiah.
