Businessman shot at in Kendrapara

Two unidentified motorcycle-borne men shot at a businessman in Kendrapara district injuring him seriously, police said today.

The 45-year-old businessman, Bichitra Mallik, who sustained bullet injuries, was admitted to SCB Medical College and hospital in Cuttack in a critical condition, the police said.

The two unidentified men shot at Mallik at Rajnagar market near Bhitarkanika National Park at 9 pm yesterday and escaped from the spot, the police said.

"A special squad has been formed to nab the culprits. We are hopeful of arresting them shortly," said Kendrapara Superintendent of Police, Dayandhi Gochayat.
