Cable operator shot dead

A 50-year-old cable operator from Ulhasnagar in the district was shot dead allegedly by two unidentified persons today, police said.

The victim Sachyanand Karira was sitting in his shop at around 4 PM when two persons walked in and shot him from a close range. The bullet hit him in abdomen and he died on way to hospital, a police spokesman said tonight.

The shooting was captured on CCTV.

A case of murder has been registered against unidentified people under section 302 of IPC and a search is on for the duo, police added.
