Campaigning for the October 15 by-election to the Northern Angami-II Assembly seat under Kohima district came to an end this evening.
Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Kohima, W Honje Konyak prohibited canvassing or propagating any election matter in any form and manner starting from 4 pm today till 4 pm on October 15, the polling day.
Konyak said appropriate action as per election law would be taken against any person violating the order.
The bypoll is a straight contest between partners of the ruling Democratic Alliance of Nagaland with the NPF fielding Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu and BJP's retired bureaucrat Visasolie Lhoungu.
The by-election has been necessitated following the election of former Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to the Lok Sabha in May.
