Police today claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of car thieves and also recovered two luxury vehicles from their possession.
Based on a tip-off, police arrested Kabir Abbas alias Ikram yesterday and also seized two luxury vehicles from him, Superintendent of Police Ratan Kant Pandey said.
During interrogation, Abbas told police that his gang members, including his father, used to lift vehicles from Haryana and Maharashtra and sell them in the state after preparing fake papers.
More arrests are likely in the case as police have got vital leads regarding other members, he said.
